FUNDAMENTALS OF ELDER MEDIATION AND DECISION-MAKING
Advanced mediation training (approval pending for 13 hours of Continuing Mediator Education (CME))
A joint partnership of Mediation Center of Charlottesville (MCC) and Piedmont Peace Center (PPC)
This 13-hour course, a blend of lecture, exercises, role plays and video, provides information on multi-party/multi-issue/multi-generational mediation; the physical and cognitive issues that may affect the mediation process; who should participate in the process and how; understanding attitudes of aging and aging biases; screening for/responding to elder abuse; and knowledge of community resources. Margaret McNeill of Better Together Dispute Resolution Services in Northern Virginia will talk about legal issues regarding adult mediation.
Registration deadline is Friday, February 21, 2025. Pre-registration is required!
Cancellation and Refund Policy: We may cancel the training for insufficient registration or inclement weather and will issue all registrants a full refund of any payments made. Cancellation by a participant must be done, in writing, by Monday, February 24, 2025 in order to receive a full refund.
If cancellation is made after February 24, 2025, the participant will receive a refund less a $75 deposit. Participants who fail to cancel or attend the training (“No-Shows”), will be charged the full amount of the training and will forfeit the deposit and any payments made towards the training.
